I was seeking a therapist, counselor, psychologist (not sure you call them to be honest, they just help) 🙂 around the Pleasanton/Dublin and I wanted to make sure they were patient, listening, showing empathy and compassion. Dr. Yen did just that. My family was having some challenging family dynamics and he was able to main my high regard and setup the next steps towards a thriving family.

Dr. Yen has been the primary clinician working with my son. Through his transparency and honesty my son and I have developed a trusting bond. Dr. Yen possess a unique ability to connect with individuals on their level. His approach to therapy made him a perfect fit for my son and I. As a parent it was helpful that he possessed the ability to highlight both the desires of my son and myself. Dr. Yen helped us find peace and helped us to rebuild a damaged relationship. I recommend Dr. Yen to all who seek support, guidance, and understanding of all relationships in life.

I have nothing but great things to say about having Tim as my therapist. As a female, I was hesitant to work with a male psychologist but I'm glad that I took the chance to do so. Tim is unlike any therapist I have worked with. He is more relatable and someone who is easy to talk to. He has a more outgoing personality and doesn't just listen. Having a therapist who just listens works well when needed, but I was looking for someone who would push me to think differently and challenge me to make changes and grow as a person. Tim gave me homework and always had ideas on how I could try to change or look at things differently. He has great insight, is kind and is organized in terms of scheduling, email responses, sending superbills etc. I recommend Tim to those looking to make a positive change in their lives. Thanks Tim!

Dr. Yen is wise, intuitive, insightful, and compassionate beyond words. As an elementary school teacher, I am faced with a myriad of challenges regarding children behavior and psychology. Dr. Yen has been a "go to" doctor for council and wisdom as I navigated children's behaviors in a classroom setting. When parents ask for references, I refer them to Dr. Yen, because I know they will be well taken care of emotionally, spiritually, mentally, psychologically, and physically.

I had a lifesaving experience with Tim. We met so many different counselors before for my son but none of them was working but he treated my son like a brother with great counselling, and he got so much better within a year. Now he has stopped taking depression medicine and almost back to normal life. If you have a child with depression, I highly recommend him.

The group is designed for elementary through early middle school students (mixed abilities welcome) who would benefit from building emotional awareness, coping strategies, social skills, and confidence. Children do not need a formal diagnosis to join — the group is skills-based and supportive for a wide range of needs.
No. Some children are currently in individual therapy and join the group as an added support, while others participate in the group alone. You will have a consultation call with the facilitator to ensure your child is a good fit for the group before enrollment. Either way, your child will learn practical tools they can use right away at home and school.
To keep the group engaging and supportive, we keep it small (6–8 children maximum). This ensures each child gets personal attention and can comfortably participate.
We understand that $700 is an investment. The Resilience Club is more than just 8 hours of group time — it’s a structured program backed by evidence-based practices (CBT, mindfulness, social learning) with carefully designed activities, parent updates, and at-home practice. Think of it as an investment in lifelong skills: emotional regulation, coping strategies, and healthy relationships. These are tools your child will use in school, friendships, and family life for years to come. Compared to the long-term cost of tutoring, ongoing therapy, or stress-related struggles, it’s an incredible return on investment.
Many parents share this concern — especially if their child is shy or hesitant in new environments. We expect some initial nerves! That’s why the first session focuses on safety, trust, and fun. Our activities are play-based and flexible, so kids can ease in at their own pace. Over the years, we’ve found that children who start out reserved often end up laughing, sharing, and even leading activities once they feel comfortable.
Individual counseling can be very valuable — but group counseling provides something unique: real-life practice with peers. Kids get to try out social, coping, and problem-solving skills in a safe, guided environment where they can learn from one another. The group format normalizes their struggles (“I’m not the only one who feels this way”) and builds confidence in ways individual therapy can’t always replicate. Many parents choose group in addition to individual therapy, and some choose it as a stand-alone option.
School counselors and teachers do a wonderful job, but they often have limited time and can’t provide a full curriculum of emotional and social skills. The Resilience Club offers a structured, 8-week program that builds skills week by week, with each session building on the last. Plus, parents receive updates and at-home activities to reinforce learning — something schools rarely provide.
We know schedules are busy! If a session is missed, you may have the opportunity to make up the session in the next quarter when that particular session is re-introduced. Either way, we will do our best to accommodate even if it means sending you the key concepts and activities so you can review them at home. Kids can still practice the skills and stay on track with the group.
Not at all. Some children join because they’re having a hard time managing stress, but others come simply to build resilience, leadership, and social confidence. Parents often say they wish they had learned these skills at their child’s age! This program benefits any child who wants tools to handle big emotions and navigate friendships with more confidence.
